During this period, known as the “Silver Age” of comics, Stan Lee collaborated with legendary artists Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and others to create many of the characters brought to life today in the MCU. Spider-Man first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962). The Hulk first appeared in Incredible Hulk #1 (May 1962). The X-Men first appeared in X-Men #1 (September 1963).
